What is live chat?
Live chat is like a conversation by e-mail but it is more instant and you chat to all the people in the room. If you have used msn messenger, it is a bit like that. Everything that is posted during the live chat is checked by a beat moderator first.
Usually, live chat is only for young people aged 25 and under, and runs 3 times a week on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday (for more information please visit the FYP pages).
However, sometimes we run special live chats to talk to other people such as carers about new services and resources we are planning to make. We also occasionally have special chats where journalists/professionals ask for your help and opinions.
Some people have told us that it is a bit difficult to access live chat if you are not used to using the For Young People pages. Because of this we have decided to add a link to live chat here, so that when we hold the special live chats that aren't just for young people, you can enter the chat quickly and easily!
When are the special live chats?
There are currently no special live chats planned, but keep checking back for updates!
How do I use live chat?
The live chat software requires you to have Java installed for it to work. If you haven't got Java installed it is likely you will just see a big box with a red cross in the top left hand corner when you open live chat.
Please click the logo below to install Java for Free:
You will also need to have registered on our site (sign up here) and then logged in here before you can enter live chat.
