Eating Disorders London

Friday 6th June 2008 – 9am – 1pm

UPDATE: NEW SPEAKER ANNOUNCED!

Organised by beat, this unique event for the London region should not be missed. With speakers covering a range of interesting and current topics, it’s the essential event for both professionals and carers wanting to learn more about eating disorders.

Keynote speaker: Professor Glenn Waller of Vincent Square Clinic, London. Title: Making cognitive-behavioural therapy work for adults with eating disorders: Putting the 'B' back into CBT.

Other speakers include:

  • Dr John Morgan, head of the Yorkshire Centre for Eating Disorders and author of 'The Invisible Man'
  • Mrs Sheila Hamner, Service Coordinator - beat

Venue: NCVO (The National Council for Voluntary Organisations), Regent's Wharf, 8 All Saints Street, London. Nearest tube/train station – King’s Cross. Piccadilly, Circle, Victoria, Hammersmith and City, Northern and Metropolitan lines all pass through King’s Cross Station.

Patient & Carer Day - Aberdeen

7th June 2008 from 10.30 am – 3.00 pm

The Douglas Hotel, Market Street, Aberdeen

A new regional Eating Disorder Inpatient Unit is due to open later this year in Aberdeen and we need your help!  We need your opinions and suggestions!  We are going to host a ½ day session where you can help us get it right!!  If we receive enough interest then we may run a similar session in Tayside and Highland. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has had experience of inpatient care either as a patient/relative or carer.

We also want to hear your opinions on Outpatient Eating Disorders Services across the North of Scotland and part of the event will concentrate on this aspect of the patient journey.
