On 28th January 2004, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) published their Eating Disorders Treatment Guideline. beat was involved in drawing up the guideline and welcomes the publication of this valuable and useful document.

Accessing the NICE Guideline

You can look at and download the information for people with an eating disorder and information for carers and doctors here

You can ask for a booklet by calling the NHS response line on 0870 1555 455 and quoting 'N0407' (Quote N0408 for info in Welsh).

Self Harm Guideline
The National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) and the National Collaborating Centre for Mental Health (NCCMH) have published a guideline for the NHS in England and Wales on the care of people who self-harm. You can view all the information including the quick reference and patients guides on the NICE website
