Recovered from Bulimia

I am looking for men and women who consider they have recovered from Bulimia Nervosa to take part in my PhD Research.

What is the Purpose of this Study?

The purpose of my study is to look at recovery from the point of view of former sufferers of bulimia.  By exploring personal experiences, insights and reflections on the recovery process, I intend to generate knowledge and understanding that will help current sufferers of bulimia.

What Does Taking Part Involve?

Participation will involve an informal, face-to-face interview lasting for up to two hours where you will be asked to discuss all aspects of your recovery, as well as your views on what constitutes recovery.  Participation is voluntary and your identity will remain strictly anonymous.

The interview will provide you with a chance to explore and reflect upon your journey of recovery, whilst those still living with bulimia will be able to learn from your personal experiences.

Who Can Take Part?

  • Even if you did not have a medical diagnosis of bulimia, you could still consider yourself to have suffered from bulimia in the past and may now consider yourself to be recovered.  If this describes you, I am still interested in talking to you.
  • You must define yourself as having recovered from bulimia within the last four years, giving a maximum length of time since recovery as FOUR years.
  • I am interested in speaking to men and women of all ages, although you must be aged 18 or older.
