Male eating disorder cases are in somewhat of a minority and can be neglected. Mental health services and treatment are often overly female-focused.
However, the relative rareness of male eating disorders provides a useful opportunity. It can shed light on the factors that put people at risk of developing an eating disorder and what factors may act to prevent the condition developing.
Our research team are particularly interested in brain development and how this influences the way information and emotions are perceived.
Can you help us?
We are looking for men of all ages who have experience of an eating disorder, whether currently or at some time in the past.
Volunteers will be asked to complete puzzles, computer games and some questionnaires. In part this can be done by post and telephone but for the complete study we would need to see you in person.
How to contact us
If you are able to help us understand the deeper causes of eating disorders please write, phone or email us.
