A production company, currently researching a documentary for BBC One, would love some help in making a documentary about males who are still struggling with eating disorders. There would be no obligation for you to take part, but anything you feel able to contribute, even just talking over the phone to the producers, would be a great help to them.
Eating disorders amongst males deserves greater attention and we are keen to help raise awareness in this way.
If you would like to contribute, please contact Miranda or Harriet or if you would like to talk to beat first, please contact Press Officer Mary George on 01603 753316; media@b-eat.co.uk
Please remember that if the production company does not follow up your offer to contribute, this in no way reflects upon you. If you not already a beat media contact, we would be delighted to hear from you. Please email Mary George using the contact details above.
Thank you

BBC DOCUMENTARY
We are researching a documentary for BBC Learning about men and their often complex relationship with food. We are specifically looking for men who suffer from eating disorders or body image issues and who are prepared to speak out about this often neglected area of men’s health.
If you have anorexia, bulimia, binge eating, bigorexia or excessively exercise to such an extent that your personal, professional or every day life is affected, it would be extremely helpful if you felt able to get in touch and speak with one of our researchers.
The exposure of this subject matter on national television will undoubtedly help a huge number of ‘secret sufferers’ to come forward and seek professional help. Your contribution to the programme will encourage more men to speak up.
We have the backing of the main eating disorders charities in the UK and leading members of the medical community who specialise in this area.
