Hi,

I've seen my school nurse every week for the past two years and nine months because i have a lot of problems to deal with, and she has been through a lot with me - coming to see me in inpatients, weighing me, counselling me etc and without her i can honestly say that i wouldn't be here now because she has helped me so much and i am so grateful to her. We also text and phone each other when i have problems going on, such as the bullying at my school getting worse and she helps me loads.

The thing i wondered whether anyone knew was whether or not i can keep in contact with her when i go to university/into adult mental health services, because i will honestly not be able to cope if i can't speak to her when i am older because she has helped me so much.

Thanks,

take care,

-xxx- lillies

Heya,

Don't be scared...If she says no then that is ok, it could be her way of letting you know that you can do this without her and with the support of other people.  I believe everything she has done with you is all for a reason.

If she says yes then that is great you can maybe make an agreement of texting her once every two weeks just to let her know how you are doing.  Or something.  Remember though that if she does not reply to you it doesn't mean that she doesn't care. Reading one of your other posts.  It just means that she needs to give her time to other people as well...she has been a massive support to you and I know that you want her to do the same for other people.

Asking won't hurt. Ask before it is too late otherwise you will always be faced withwhat if... whicah is just as hard to deal with. It could also be that you do not want to ask because you do not want to the answer to be yes...sometimes letting go of someone and finding someone else is another big step in recovery.

Let me know how it goes?

Hugs

Hi,

Thanks for your comment butterflies - but i am still too scared to ask until nearer the time, and i don't think she can decide until nearer the time anyway, depending on how i am in myself and everything, which i expect will still be the same.

take care,

hey lillies

i understand how you feel, i had the same problem, when i started recovering one of the staff from school helped me so much, and i too look back and really don't know how i would have done it without them. They were always there, and always made me feel better by just caring. But unfortunately the time came to say goodbye, i didn't ask if i could keep in touch cause i felt in my heart it wasn't the best thing to do, how dyou feel inside about asking your school nurse? But i managed it and i think you will too, even though its really sad :( and miss them, you may begin to feel gratitude that they were there at all, and determined to carry on the good work as a thankyou. Whatever happens it can be ok.  Let us know how it goes sweet
