hi, im new here but i just wanted a querey answered.

basically i've had anorexia since last september and in march i became an inpatient for 2 months, i've come home and im managing to continue putting on weight. however i have always been naturally very thin and uim nearing the weight which i was before any of this ever began, but the problem is that it is still quite underweight. i was wondering what, if any, powers medical people have over when i choose to stop gaining weight.

i feel it would be better for me to maintain at a lower weight, then to put on more weight then i have ever been and then want to lose wight becaus eof that and so relapsing after all the hard work i've been putting in.

any thoughts on this?

thank you.

Well done for coming so far. That is a fanstastic achievement :)

Your body will tell you when it's happy. Your peridos will be back and they will be regular. You will feel more happier and feel more energectic. Simple things won't tire you out as much and you'll be less irritable. Trust me, you just know when you are at the right weight for yor body. The proffesionals will know this. Everyone has a set weight point. I used to have this fear while gaining that I wouldn't stop and I'll be huge! But it's certainly not true. I have gained weight and suddenly it just started stabalising although I am still slightly underweight.

So don't worry about this. Could you pehaps bring up your fears with your counsellor/doctors? I am sure they'll say the same as me. *hugs*

hey weldun for doin so well

i was always underweight too - it wasnt becus i delbrately manipultated my food intake i was just naturally smaller

i started off with anorexic traits then went full into bulimia for about 2 years and am in recovery now but in order for me to recover fully n prevent relapse ive had to keep my body weight up a bit mor than i was b4 it started - plus u hav to take into account u r older than u wer then and u shuld weigh a bit mor

i fink u shuld discus ur worries with them and let them kno tht u hav never been higer than a certain weight so then they can help and advice u in a mor informed way - but they do kno wat is best for ur body in the long run so u just need to fight and take one day at a time.

take care
