What happens for you -
Prader- Willi Syndrome is not an eating disorder as such, in the sense that it does not have its roots in emotional problems, but is a genetic disorder that results in excessive eating from early childhood. People with Prader -Willi syndrome may not achieve full height growth; they may have bad temper tantrums and often have learning difficulties, all of which require specialist healthcare treatment. Pica is another disorder that is not strictly an eating disorder , as again it does not have its roots in emotional problems. Pica is where people eat things which contain no nutrition, these might include; dirt, stones, hair, faeces, lead, plastic, pencil erasers, paper, coal, chalk, and wood. Pica most commonly affects children, but it also affects people with developmental disabilities. Pica may be unusual but is not always dangerous, nevertheless it may result in accidental poisoning. Because pica may have serious medical consequences you should talk to your doctor about any worries you may have. Pica can occur during pregnancy.
