Hi,

First post and not really sure what to say or do...

Basically as part of my recovery I was recommended to come onto here and find outside support from my main treatment. It feels strange telling complete strangers that I suffer with this because I have never told anyone apart from my parents.

I really just wanted to ask is it normal to be scared about recovery? I mean after going through the main phases. I should be happy that I can now stay awake in the afternoons but I'm frightened the gain may go too far...

I hope I get the hang of this andhaven't posted anything i'm not meant to.... :)

Hey chasingstars, welcome! Don't feel weird about opening up on here, what's great about it is that everyone understands. We have all gone or are going through similar things so you are not alone i promise. Unfortunately gaining weight is just inevitable but without a healthy weight you can't do normal things or have a better life. Its normal to feel scared about recovering, i was absolutely terrified of it but with the support and help you don't have to do it by yourself and you have some sort of safety net to bounce off of if you slip up, which again is completely normal. Recovering will get you your life back. Eating disorders take away everything, take over your life so recovering is the best choice you could make. I hope everything turns out for you, you deserve to be happy! Keep posting on here when you need to talk, take care. x

Thank you for the lovely open message. I think perhaps even posting on here is a recognition of where I am at the moment and what i need to do to move forward.

I saw on your own thread your feeling lonely - and low. Please don't, you are never lonely, even though it may feel like it in the darkest times there is always somebody who cares. Have you got anything to keep busy? I hope you feel better soon :) xxx
