hey sweetheart,

I'm 17, will be 18 in June. I am also studying A level psychology. I was going to go to uni next year, but am now deferring my entry for a year as I have had to drop out of some exams due to my ed, so know how it can make you feel.

do any of your friends know about your ed?? do you find them supportive??

I find it really hard to get all my work done, and can't always concentrate in the lessons, but as I am also taking drama it is quite a good subject as you don't have to concentrate too much! (most of the time lol)

am always here if you ever want to talk sweetheart,

let me know how things are going,

take care,

lexy -xxx-

Heya,

I got to uni and I am not going to lie it is difficult to cope. I took a year out at the last minute and it is a little easier to cope now than it would have been for me.  I am a bit of a perfectionist (which is one of the few problems(as well as others) that has lead to me having eating problems because I have to control everything and everything has to be right if they are not I struggle to cope and turn to controlling my food intalke) and so I did not drop out of A levels but I know a few who did and they went and did a college course and found it a little easier.  One of those people has now got a place in uni to start in sep.  She is only 19.

Do not give up hope and do not feel like you have let people down because you haven't.  Maybe deferring uni for a year or even two might help.  There is nothing saying that you have to go straight into uni.

This probably does not help but I hope that you can take something out of it.

Good luck and take care.

*hugs*

P.S. If you do decide to go to uni in jan you can always see if the help you are recieving now can be transfered to a team that is near your uni.  How far away are you going...if it is not to far (which was my mistake I moved 500miles away) then you can do weekend visits back home.

Keep going strong

Always here for a chat.

i didnt feel it helped me but then im just really stubborn and couldnt admit back then that i had a problem! thats good, yeh things can take a while but once you get the help then you can start getting better :) . Yeh, gives much more time to think about food and base my whole day around it, i try and meet them at lunch times or in free periods nd stuff just so im not in the house all the time.

You should maybe try uni hun? There's nothing which says you have to stay if you start and everyone i know has said it was really good so i suppose there's no harm giving it a go or even asking them to defer your place for a year first so you can think it over and concentrate on your health first.

About two years, maybe more.had depression for five or six nd i can remember things now which perhaps were the beginning of it but i dont know..

Hope your feeling a bit better, stay strong
