hey hunni,

I know what you mean. I take psychology and used to find these kind of shows absolutely fascinating. It really interested me how people react to things that happen in their lives in completely different ways, but since being told that I have an eating disorder I am unable to watch anything on television where people are talking about weight and dieting, even those that I know are intended to help people understand eating disorders better and therefore try and make it easier for us.

I think these programmes often make people with ed's feel worse about themselves. I know that they make me feel absolutely awful whenever they are on as I find that, if I have to watch, I am constantly comparing myself to those on the programme, and I guess it brings it home how real it all is. I guess I try and distance myself from my ed whenever possible as I find it easier to cope with it that way, and these programmes make that just that little bit harder.

take care hunni,

lexy -xxx-

Yes - ARGH!!!

The race to double size zero?  I have had many a rant about this and even to channel 4 when that particular programme aired! I rung them everyday for 2 weeks to complain and then I saw they repeated it a week or two ago!

If a young, niave girl with very low self esteem is watching the obesity crisis on one channel and thinks..oh my god, i'm obese..then switches over to see ******starving herself and losing weight to look even skinnier..what do you think that girls gonna do? Ridiculous!

The most disgusting thing about these programmes is the attitudes the people doing the experiments.do,, That's what I have also written to this journalist serveral times to ask her to explain her actions - still waiting on her reply!

Ahhh thank you for letting me air my views! hehe

Love to all

I totally agree! The whole world seems obsessed with dieting and the importance of not being obeese, where as us lot with ANA have to put ON weight! It just makes the whole thing so much harder. Do TV companies not get the fact that being underweight isnt good?

REALLY gets on my nerves!

Luv to u all x keep strong x

i could never hate you steph x

but please try to stop. i hate my body now i have put weight on, but when i look back on how much i missed out on, it just prompts me to not "diet" again. There are experts who can help you feel better about yourself.

do it for your future x

i have ana so it may be slightly diferent with bulemia , but all  you can do is try x

write back and tell me how youre getting on.
