Beat’s a winner!
Beat – the Norwich-based national eating disorders charity has added another award to its trophy cabinet.
The ‘some comms awards’ celebrate the best in UK social media and last night in Manchester, Beat’s ‘My Personal Best’ website won the award in the charity/not for profit category.
The judging panel was drawn from some of the biggest names in UK media including the BBC’s Head of Media & Audience Engagement, the Chair of the Public Relations Consultants Association and Asda’s Head of Corporate Communications.
Susan Ringwood, Beat’s Chief Executive said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won such a prestigious award in a highly competitive category. ‘My Personal Best’ is a truly inspirational website, run by young people for all young people, regardless of whether they have a mental health issue, which invites them to share their stories of personal triumph in a bid to inspire others. I’m proud that the time and commitment put in by our young volunteers in order to help and inspire others has been recognised by leaders in corporate communications.”
My Personal Best has also been shortlisted in the 2011 Children & Young People Now Awards the winners of which will be announced next month.
