Beat – the UK's leading eating disorder charity and the largest organisation of its kind in the world – has appointed a new Chair.
Chris Outram is Chairman of the international strategy consultancy he founded in 1987. Employing some 550 people across eight countries, OC&C is now ranked as one of the leading consultancies in its field of specialisation – strategy. In his career, Chris has spanned most sectors including media and has worked extensively in this field on both sides of the Atlantic. Prior to OC&C, Chris trained in US consultancies and pursued a number of general management roles internationally. He holds double honours degrees in engineering and economics as well as an MBA from INSEAD, has two daughters and lives in Central London.
By Chairing the Board of Trustees Chris is looking forward to being part of helping Beat achieve its ambitious goals. "Beat does a great job and yet there are many more people who would benefit from what the organisation does whether they are sufferers, family, carers, clinicians etc. Beat has been transformed in recent years under the Chairmanship of Sir Laurie Magnus and I look forward to a future which promises to be as uplifting and ambitious."
Chief Executive Susan Ringwood: "We are delighted that Chris has decided to give his valuable time and expertise in overseeing the governance of our organisation and helping Beat to achieve its mission. As a strategist he will give us a new perspective for the future and we're looking forward to extending our reach and impact under his direction".
