BodyTalk is a workshop resource pack for teachers developed by Dove and beat, which explores body image and self-esteem issues in an enjoyable way, encouraging young people to consider their own appearance more realistically through revealing how ‘perfect’ images are created. Body Talk addresses the PSHE (Personal Social and Health Education) framework for KS3 (11-14 years), is adaptable to various environments, group sizes and session lengths and includes activities and a film exploring ‘behind-the-scenes’ at a professional photo shoot.

Workshops
Research suggests that one-off talks exploring eating disorders may be harmful to young people, especially when the focus is on the signs and symptoms and dangers of these illnesses.
The following workshop has been developed by beat and is designed to be appropriate for young people. For more guidance on appropriate support and information around eating disorders when working with young people, please refer to 'What can I do?'
is a workshop developed by beat, designed not only to challenge misconceptions around eating disorders, but prompt discussion on why an eating disorder may develop, and how the target group, Year 10 students, can seek support for eating disorder concerns. Taking a student-centered approach Educate draws on how attitudes and beliefs shape wider mental well-being and the role of coping strategies through an interactive quiz and set of activities.
The Educate student sessions are now available as part of Educate Plus, which offers the Educate workshop for students, combined with sessions for either parents or school staff.
