2 teachers at my school know and are making me see the school nurse sometime this week, but im really scared? :(

I dont know what to do or say or what the school nurse is going to do :(

I actually would not wish an ED on anyone, because this is horrible...

Hope everyone else here is alright though :D x

Hi,

I'm doing my AS levels at the moment. Twenty days after my last GCSE exam i was hospitalised (voluntarily), so i know how hard it is to cope with exams and an ED at the same time. It is really hard to focus on revision, but you just have to try and eat small, nutritous snacks regularly to keep your blood sugar level up.

I have depression as well. It makes me feel really down and awful. I am on medication for mine, but sometimes it feels as though it doesn't really help :(

I see my school nurse once a week/fortnightly, and i have done for the past 20 months, and i find that it really helps. School nurses are really understanding, and they provide a lot of support and help. Mine was kind enough to go for a walk with me the day before i went into hospital even though i wasn't at school. School nurses aren't scary at all, and they just want to help you and make you feel better.

Let me know how it goes,

-xxx- lillies

Soz you feel so alone. You are lucky to hav school nurse to talk to. Hope she helps.Try not to worry about GCSEs, they are important but you are more important.

Could nurse help you tell parents? Then you would hav more support to get you thro exams.Sometimes not teling is worse than actually telling. I thought mine would freak but said they were relieved coz they knew something was wrong but I wouldn't talk. Wish I had.

Good luck!

Soz to hear nurse away.  Praps u can speak to parents instead. I woz scared of mine, thougth they would moan and not believe me but it woznt like that.  They actually listened and said they wanted to help.  Amazing coz they were usually so busy with everything never had time for me.  When is nurse back?  How were exams?  Nearly forgot to ask. Soz x take care xxx annie

Glad it went well with nurse.  She sounds cool.  Good to hav someone to talk to.

Good you go thro exams and feel ok.

I am eating ok at the moment.  Trying not to panic about calories.  Try hard nnot to read labels as that makes me worse.  What is the worst bit for u?

I am not really clever and I hav got my prblems but I know weight is a stupid measurement coz of bones.  counsellor told me that.  u r prob right not to get weighed. Eating probs are in our heads anyway and not on the scales.  I know all that but it shard to believe it!!  Weird right.

Don't stop eating though.  Not good idea.  Just makes everything worse.

keep smiling   X

Hi,

I am glad to hear that your school nurse is nice *hugs*. I also see my school nurse, and she is really nice as well. They are really helpful and mine has helped me through a lot of difficult times over the past two and a half years.

Don't feel as though you have to be weighed unless the professionals insist it is absolutely neseccary because they think you are at a dangerously low weight - if you think it will make you worse, then just say you don't want to be weighed at the moment - or they could weigh you, but you don't have to look.

How are things going? *hugs*

take care,

Hi,

I know how frustrating it feels for you - i'm going through an ED at the moment as well, and i don't really know how to describe it to people either. *hugs*

Maybe you could try talking to your school nurse again? She sounds nice and she wouldn't mind listening to you and helping you out with your problems.

Sorry this is so short but i;m really tired,

take care,

-xxx- lillies
