Norfolk support services
A dedicated helpline for carers, sufferers and professionals, call 0300 300 0115 or email email@example.com Monday and Wednesday 10.30am - 7.30pm and Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 10.30am - 6.30pm. The helpline is open to anyone over 18 who needs support and information relating to an eating disorder including sufferers, carers and professionals.
For those under 18, the national Beat Youthline is available on 0845 634 7650.
Training workshops for healthcare professionals including primary care clinicians, GPs, practice nurses and mental health practitioners. This three hour workshop will focus on clinical presentations, treatment, recent evidence and the role of primary care in the management of eating disorders.
Self Help and Support Groups
A support group for people with eating disorders, runs monthly in Norwich. An opportunity for anyone with eating distress in various stages of their illness and recovery to meet people who may be in a similar situation.
Carers' support groups run in North Walsham and Norwich. These groups are for anyone caring for someone with an eating disorder.This can include parents, siblings, partners, relatives and friends.
The groups can not offer a diagnosis or clinical support, but provide a confidential, supportive space where people can share experiences, thoughts, problems and successes.
Each group is open to any Norfolk resident over the age of 18, regardless of their postal address.
The groups are run by Beat trained facilitators.
Norwich Support Groups run on the FIRST TUESDAY of each month at The Charing Cross Centre, 17-19 St. John Maddermarket, Norwich, NR2 1DN

Groups run in the same building, but in separate rooms, so both carers/friends/family can attend, at the same time as those with an eating disorder.
The group for carers is held in the Stanley Cooper room, and the group for recoverers is held in The Lounge. A member of the Charing Cross Centre staff will be able to sign post you to the correct room, and signs will be displayed on the wall of the reception area.
