We are the finance and admin team at Beat, the team is made up of Sarah (the boss), Amy and Paul (finance) and Sue (admin). We do all the stuff that has to be done in any organisation but is not directly involved in working with eating disorders.
The team is currently breathing a sigh of relief after the “go live” at the beginning of October of a new accounting software package. We had outgrown the capabilities of the previous software, it could no longer produce the reports needed by management with the correct level of detail. Early in the spring, several suppliers were invited in to talk about their accounting packages and many hours were spent finding something right for Beat.
That was the easy part, then followed preparations over the summer of entering information onto templates and training in the use of the new software. Finally, at the beginning of October it went live. As always with technology there were initial teething problems and there are still some pieces of work that have not been tried out, but overall it has been a success! We are now looking forward to far more exciting spreadsheets!
