Hey lovely,
how are you doing? that's good stuff that u've got the support starting, though it can be hard to let people in and help, but listen, and try and take on what people are saying to help. it can be the hardest thing in recovery, making those first steps, but keep going, it will be worth it in the end!
am here if u ever want a hug or chat
love n hugs

Bulimias a massive thing to tackle sweetheart, it's so normal and completely okay to be so scared.
What getting professional help can do is help you understand some of the ways you act, aswell as help you start to change them. Without that kind of professional support it seems like a totally unachievable thing to try and do.
But give it a go, if you can let them help you, just think how wonderful it would be to not have that stress of your weight 24/7.

lots of love and support, and well done you for admitting this on here.
i'm bulimic and am starting therapy in March, and believe me, i'm just as terrified. I'm convinced they won't be able to help me change... but we've both got to think positive and let them help us!

Hi guys, I'm also a sufferer. I'm finding it hard to get help and feel so hurt that, when I was anorexic, services were constantly on my case, but now i'm bulimic, noone seems bothered.

Bulimia what to do

Hey guys,

how are you all doing?

urgh, EDs are just pants...

Hannah hun, I can't believe there are no services available for 5 years! NHS are so under staffed in so many places for these kind of things!

If there really aren't any services available, but i suggest try and keep asking and pushing for it if you can...i know sometimes it's hard to reach out in the first place, let alone push for something...but hun u deserve the support and help! but yeah if it really isn't a possibility, could you try and search for some self help guidance...they might give you ways of challenging you're thoughts and how to start changing you're eating habits...

Also group therapies might be more of a possibility...they tend to have more availability and spaces if you could think about that and ask about any you're area might have...even a beat support group maybe?

Really hope you can get some support in place hun, it makes a huge difference! not that people haven't managed alone, it's just a harder fight

love and hugs xxxx

re: Bulimia what to do.

hey aimee,

how are you doing?

have you been able to ask for support and be open about what's going on hun?

i know i was similar in that when i switched to bulimia people seemed less concerned...but it's still just as destructive, and we still need support through recovery! maybe, as i said to hannah, could you look into other services like groups, or self-help until you can get the right support? though sometimes groups are the best support...

hope you're getting some support and giving ED a gdd kick!

hey willow, how are you doing?

you're totally right about the professional help! i know starting therapy is always a fairly nerve-racking experience but definitely, if you can be open with them and let them help it's a huge positive in kicking you're ED for good!

love xxxx

re: Bulimia what to do.

Hey everyone, thanks for your thoughts. My bulimia has been terrible but I now know I've got a review meeting with my Drs in March so that has given me some peace of mind. At least i know they'll be thinking about how to help me. In the meantime, have been given tranquillisers which I feel doesn't really solve the problem!

Hannah, have you looked into help online? I think there are on line CBT based programmes for bulimia. Not sure though, I haven't used them.

This weekend I went to an Anorexics and Bulimics Anonymous group for the first time. It was a bit overwhelming and scary and there aren't many in the country. It was good to hear others talk about their experiences though and I felt less alone.

Keep Trying!
