Hi CS,
Sorry to hear your struggling but I think the meal plan idea is an excellent one and is something I have been working on for the past couple of weeks and am amazed (and a little bit anxious and overwhelmed too but to be expected I suppose) at the results!
Will try and explain how I have gone about it but sorry if it gets edited will do my best...
I am still waiting for a consultation with a dietician so decided to be proactive and create my own meal plan armed with the knowledge I have about food some that I researched (looking into what healthy eating and good nutrition really is from trusted sources such as nhs website etc) and also enlisting the help of a trusted friend (who has good eating habits and healthy body image) who I discussed things like portion sizes and a balanced approach to food types with (although I still have many 'unsafe' foods that I am working towards including more).
Basically is comes down to planning 3 meals and 3 snacks a day approximately 3 hours apart. I find writing down each night what I am going to eat the next day really helpful as it takes the panic out of deciding at the time and is also like making a deal with yourself giving you the control in a positive way. I have also found that using meal planning has stabilised my eating and therefore given me the space and greater ability to look at and challenge other areas around the ED. Give it a go! Worth a try at least....but remember baby steps. Here if you need us.
Hugs, C xxx
