Your privacy

We would like you to think carefully before choosing your username. You may use your first name, but not in conjunction with your surname, and you cannot use your email address. Please choose a username which will be unique to these boards and not used for other forums. We do routinely search service users’ information when they are registering with the boards to ensure the safeguarding and anonymity of service users.

We will not post messages that identify you to other users of the Board. However, Beat does have registry details of our service users and we will use this to inform you when a post needs to be extensively edited or if a post has been deleted.

If we believe that you are vulnerable or are displaying behaviours that give rise to concern we may contact you to offer support and information on where you can access support for yourself.

Beat’s Confidentiality Policy states that we must seek help if we believe that you or someone in your care is at risk of significant harm. Therefore, we will inform the authorities if we believe you are in danger from suicide, self-harm or abuse of medication. We will tell you if we are going to break confidentiality.
