The Recovery Club is a unique service and the focus of each club will be on your recovery and how you can gain support to initiate and continue the recovery process. The club will feature facilitators including healthcare professionals working in the eating disorder field and young ambassadors who have had a personal experience of an eating disorder, who will share their experiences with you and offer you their thoughts about recovery.
The Recovery Club will enable you to share your feelings and both give and gain support from other young people affected by an eating disorder. Throughout the clubs you will be able to ask questions and gain insight from young people in recovery or recovered from an eating disorder, the beat youth team and healthcare professionals. A member of the beat youth team and I will be moderating each club, to ensure that you feel safe and comfortable and we will be available throughout the club to offer you encouragement to begin the recovery process.
Recovery is an ongoing process and unfortunately beat cannot make recovery happen for you. However, we do hope that through the Recovery Clubs we will be able to offer you support through your decision to change and seek the help that you need to start the process of recovery. The most important thing to remember even during really difficult times is that recovery is possible, it can happen for you and you do deserve to get better.
